reading life.

hmmmm...My reading life? There is nothing exciting about my reading life, but everytime i read a book, I feel like I am part of the story. I felt close to the main character, and the more I read the more I feel like I am going on an adventure with the main character. I havn't started on my 3rd book yet, but I will soon. My book talk went great, although I wished I could have put more effort on my visual art. I drew an EYE, and showed it to my group members. I thought it was pretty good, but i wanted them to think how would it feel to see an eye everywhere they go. Hey, artwork is to make the viewers think arn't they?? I thought talking in a group of 4 is easier then talking in front of the whole class. It isn't as nerve wrecking as standing in front of a whole class presenting an oral presentation. Well, i think this is all i have to say... bye...

GOLD

I think the gold represents the end of the journey for Santiago. The alchemist's personal legend was to change a metal to gold. It shows that Santiago will be recieving something extremely valuable. Santiago has grown so much throughout his journey.

The Alchemist Questions

The presentation given by my classmates were extremely well. What I found interesting was when the group presented the First question, they had said that Fatima is narcissitic. I found that extremely interesting because Fatima is the woman of the desert and it's her job or Personal legend to wait for her lover to return. What I learned from their presentation is that Pursuing a Personal Legend will contain narcissism. Also, when the group had presented question number three. They said that the Old man(king salem) is Santiago's false hope. From that presentation I learned that you can't always trust the advice given to you. You must question every advice given. Another thing I found interesting was when I learned that Alchemy is a symbol of the mind. The Flame symbolizes our mind. To keep the flame pure, we must feed it with knowledge. Great metaphor. These were the things I found that were most interesting from the presenation given.

How I am similar to Mark.

Mark is basically the only son in the family. I am also a male in my family including my brother, but my brother is mostly out with his friends. I am mostly stuck in a house with females. I find it normal. Mark is currently liing in a family filled with females. One thing we do in common is that we wander around a lot. When Mark was bored, he took his roller blades and skate around his neighbor. I wander as well. When I am extremely bored, i wander around the house or take a walk. Mark is pretty smart, he was the first one to get use to how to use this magical talisman. I, also, am the one that learned how to use the computer in my family. I learned how to navigate better than any of my family members. I would always help my sisters when they need help when they use the computer. Well those are the similarities between Mark and I.

Time Management

I am horrible at Time managing. I am currently trying my best to manage my time and use them wisely. Each time I manage, I end up lagging. I work very slowly. I should learn to work quickly too. Working extremely slow is my lowlight. My goal is to stop procrastinating ! Time managing is important because in reality and the business world, you won't be able to procrasinate. Ms. Crabtree, if you are reading this, I apologize although I havn't done anything wrong in class. O_o'' I will exert myself vigorously to stop lagging!!

Santiago

Santiago has grown throughout the story of THE ALCHEMIST. Santiago is more wise and is more aware of his surroundings. He knows how to interpret the meaning of dreams and omens. Santiago has become a stronger person from all the obstacles he has encounter such as going through the desert. The desert is the toughest obstacle Santiago would have to face. The desert is described as an endless horizon, and people usually give up because theyre trying to overcome a obstacle so difficult that they develop the feeling of fear. They fear that they would fail. Santiago learned not to give up and to try his hardest to overcome his obstacles. If he really wants something, he would do whatever it takes to achieve his Personal Legend without having fear of losing your love ones nor failing. Throughout his journey, Santiago understands the Language of the World, The Soul of the World. He is a True Alchemist!

Dear Edward Eager

Dear Edward Eager,

I enjoyed reading your book, Half Magic. What inspired you to write an amazing story like this? What gave you the idea write about a magical coin that only grants half a wish? When you were little, did you ever believed in magic? Honestly, at the age of 14, I still believe in magic. ^^. Maybe, there isn't magic in planet Earth, but in other universe. When Jane, Mark, Katharine, and Martha possesse the Magical coin, I was jealous. I wish I had a coin that can grant me any wish I want. But I partly learned from your story that I shouldn't take things for granted. I am highly considering to read your other books, such as Magic By The Lake, Magic or Not?, and Seven-Day Magic. ^^. My lowlights of your story was when Martha had wished she had another family. When her wish was granted and she forgot everything. Her siblings had to go on a journey to get the coin from Martha to wish for Martha to come back. My highlights about your stories were all the amazing journeys Martha and her siblings had went on from their granted wishes. Thank you Mr. Eager for writing such an amazing book !! I can't wait to read your other novels!!! ^^.

Sincerely,
Long Hy

Maktub...

In The Alchemist, the crystal merchant mentioned the word "Maktub". The word "Maktub" made Santiago ponder. The crystal merchant told Santiago that it was an Arabian word and that he must be born in Arab in order for him to understand the meaning of "Maktub". The crystal merchant told Santiago that in his native language, it means "It is written..." This made be wonder. Maktub connects to the quote I am familiar with, "Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself." Life is mainly about creating who you are, because "It is written..." could possibly mean that you are writing you own life. You are creating, including, and excluding your desires in life.

A New Book

I am currently reading a new book called , "Story of a Girl". I'm still at the beginning of the story because I am a slow reader. ^^. Well it's interesting. It's about a teenage girl who got caught having sex with a 17 year old boy by her father. Ever since that night, she and her father stopped communicating. Stories about her have reigned her high school for approximately 2 years. GOSH! writing a blog about this is giving me the urge to read more!^^.

My favorite part from "Missing Since Monday"

Missing Since Monday was the first book I read ever since school started. There is a section i enjoyed reading the most from this book. I should have posted this a long time ago, but....lol. Well the section I enjoy reading the most was when Maggie and her boyfriend were in the hall way. Her boyfriend held her against him and kissed her. She wanted to push him away but at the same time she didn't. What a moment. Roflmfao, what an erotic moment. LOL. If you are reading this right now, don't think I am a pervert because if you read the book, I am sure you would like it too! ^^.

My reading skills IMProved!

My reading skill throughout the school year has improved. After reading a total of three book this semester, my ability to probe deep into the literal meaning improved massively. Well, not massively, but I believe I got better. I still need practice:). This is my reading life so far. LOL well: To Be Continue...

My Prediction.

I just finished reading "Loser" by Jerry Spinelli. It's about a little boy who is enthusiastic, funky, akward, un-athletic, and sloppy. His name is Donald Zinkoff. Donald would laugh hysterically everytime he would hear a funny word, such as "Jabip." From 1st grade to his 5th grade year, his teacher would forbid the class to say any word that may sound funny. He is like a loner in school. No one really wants to socialize with him. Sometime in class, his classmates would say a word that sounds funny to make him laugh. They did that becuase they enjoy seeing him get in trouble. Well at the end of the story, a group of kids were playing football. Zinkoff was around. He wanted to join them, but they didn't want him to join. When they were done chosing their teammates, Zinkoff was still there, hoping he would get picked. No one wanted to pick Zinkoff. THey wanted Zinkoff to leave. They wanted him to know that he is a left over. But finally, one of the team captain called out "Zinkoff." My prediction is that everything will turn out to be okay for Donald. He wouldn't be a loner after all! LIfe could get better for Donald. To be continue.....

Long and Noah WOW!

I just finished the book called "Flush" by Carl Hiaasen. Noah and I both have a sister that we get along with. I get along with my sister very well. I would talk to her about my personal problems, drama, and etc. Noah gets along with his baby sister as well. They would talk about their father's situation. Noah's baby sister bit the bully when they were being picked on. I think is our similarities.

IF I Were NOAH

It was quite frightening when Dusty's body guard's chased after me. After getting caught being on board, I was having an adrenaline. People in the cruise were too busy gambling to notice what was happening to me. I ran to the front of the ship. Being surrounded by three of Dusty's body guards, I decided to jump into the ocean. The ship was not that far away from shore, so it was easy for my to swim my way back. It was hard for me to see where I was swimming because of the pollution. I cried out "Geronimo!" many times, but my little sister, Abbey, never responded. The highly polluted water made it hard for me to get back to shore. Soon enough, Dusty's three body guards were on their way to hunt me down...
