Maktub...

In The Alchemist, the crystal merchant mentioned the word "Maktub". The word "Maktub" made Santiago ponder. The crystal merchant told Santiago that it was an Arabian word and that he must be born in Arab in order for him to understand the meaning of "Maktub". The crystal merchant told Santiago that in his native language, it means "It is written..." This made be wonder. Maktub connects to the quote I am familiar with, "Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself." Life is mainly about creating who you are, because "It is written..." could possibly mean that you are writing you own life. You are creating, including, and excluding your desires in life.

Hmm I get what you're saying Long. That's kinda what I thought too. Cause if it is written, then does that mean that's your destiny is already all planned out? Or do you have to write out your destiny? Your destiny all depends on the present and what you do in it, so make good choices and your Personal Legend could be fulfilled. =D
